About Me
My name is Dianne Castaneda. I came from the Philippines.
I started this blog in order to be of help to everyone who wish to do freelance jobs but are clueless on how or where to start. I tagged myself as Freelance Buddy because I think I already have enough experience and reputation not to brag about, but to use in order to extend a helping hand and bring something back to the community.
How did I start freelancing?
I can say that freelancing came to me quite accidentally. I have no idea about freelancing until the need to have a job came to me when I was still a graduating student in college. I am a 5th year Civil Engineering student back then and I was quite meaning to have a job because I wanted to help my parents with the bills and expenses. I never really expected that with that simple job hunt in Jobsdb will change how I look at employment forever. I was searching about Civil Engineering jobs when I saw a job with the title, “virtual assistant.” I can still remember how curious I am about the job. How can someone be a Virtual Assistant? I find it funny the first time so out of curiosity, I googled it. That’s when I met oDesk. By that time, I am quite familiar what a virtual assistant is. But that did not stop me. I looked over the oDesk website and found a great opportunity. I signed up and everything else is history.
Presently, I am working freelance via oDesk for more than 2 years and proudly, I was able to receive a full-time job offer from my current employer of almost 2 years. I am saying this not to brag or boast of my achievements which probably would be smaller than what you potentially can accomplish a few years from now if you give freelancing a chance. As for me, I can say that I am more than happy with where I am today and I am more than proud to be part of the global Pinoy community.
If you have questions, feel free to ask me. I am more than willing to answer your questions.
